Each weekday we collect the new building permits and land-use filings from every city and county we cover.

  3. 3

The good ones land in your inbox

Ranked for you and sent by email each morning. Everything else is a search away.

Your trade

What do you bid on?

Pick your work and see what you would set up. Trade is a filter you choose, read from each permit's own description, so the list matches what you build.

New construction and additions near your yard, ranked.

Watch building permits at applied and approved, plus the subdivisions and multi-family site plans that become jobs before anyone has bid. Leads in your service area are ranked by how recently they were filed, how close they are and whether they match your trade.

What you would set
  • Category: new construction and building permits
  • Build stage: applied and approved
  • Land use: subdivisions, site plans, multi-family
  • Area: a radius around your yard

Get in at the subdivision hearing, not the groundbreaking.

Subdivisions and site plans come with hearing dates, so you see the ground work coming months ahead. Then follow new construction from applied to approved in the cities that publish building permits.

What you would set
  • Land use: subdivisions, site plans, annexations
  • An alert when a hearing is set or moved
  • Build stage: applied and approved
  • Area: a whole county

Re-roofs, additions and remodels, filtered by trade.

Filter building permits by the roofing trade tag and by build stage to find exterior work, and see what has finaled nearby. Job value shows where the city publishes it.

What you would set
  • Trade: roofing
  • Build stage: approved, under construction, finaled
  • Category: building permit
  • Area: the cities you work in

Find the permits that need your trade.

Electrical, plumbing and HVAC work is tagged from each permit's own description, and the build stage shows whether a job is applied, approved or under construction. Filter the table and the map by both and save the view. Then put an alert on the cities you work, for new building permits at the stages you want.

What you would set
  • Trade: electrical, plumbing or HVAC
  • Build stage: approved and under construction
  • Saved view: your trade at the stages you want
  • Area: a radius around your shop

A whole county's construction in one alert.

See new construction by city and build stage, and put one alert on a county to hear about every new filing in it. Export what you find to CSV for your sales team.

What you would set
  • Category: new construction
  • Build stage: applied and approved
  • Area: a whole county
  • Export: CSV, GeoJSON, KML or KMZ
First thing, your leads

Your leads, ranked and explained

Every filing in your service areas is ranked, and each one says in plain words why it is near the top.

  • Filed recently, and how recently
  • Distance from your yard
  • Whether it matches your trade
  • A building permit or a land-use filing
  • A hearing coming up soon

Give each lead a stage, add a note, or snooze it until it matters. The lead digest brings the new ones to your inbox each morning.

Alerts

Watch a city, a county or one address

Hear by email when a filing is new, gets a hearing date or has it moved, is decided, or is withdrawn. Take it as it happens or once a day, and narrow it by category and build stage.

It tells you what to expect. Before you save an alert, it estimates how many filings a week will match, so you can widen or narrow it today instead of waiting a month.

The owner on the permit. Bend, Medford and Crook County name the owner and the contractor on their permits, more than 6,000 filings so far. They show in the filings table and in your exports, and you can filter to the permits that name an owner.

The owner of the lot under any permit. Everywhere else, click the lot a permit sits on. In 28 of Oregon's 36 counties the parcel card shows the owner of record and their mailing address from the county assessor, with the date we last read it.

Washington, Clackamas, Linn, Lincoln, Baker, Sherman, Union and Wallowa counties do not publish owners. We do not have owners' phone numbers.

Questions

Good to know before you sign up

Do you have building permits for my city?

For 28 cities and counties so far, including Portland, Eugene, Salem, Bend, Medford, Corvallis and Clackamas County. Many smaller Oregon cities do not publish permits in a form we can read. Land-use filings are statewide, and they come months before the permit.

Do I get the owner's name?

Yes, two ways. Bend, Medford and Crook County name the owner and the contractor on the permit itself, and they show in the filings table and your exports. For any other permit, click the lot it sits on: in 28 of Oregon's 36 counties the parcel card shows the owner of record and mailing address from the county assessor. Washington, Clackamas, Linn, Lincoln, Baker, Sherman, Union and Wallowa counties do not publish owners. We do not have owners' phone numbers.

How fresh are the filings?

We collect each city and county every weekday, so a filing usually reaches you the morning after it is posted. Alerts go out as it happens or as a daily summary, whichever you pick.

Can my team use it?

Yes. The $99 plan includes one person; once you subscribe, add seats from your Team page at $49 a month or $490 a year each — two people are $148 a month, three are $197, up to 20 seats. Everyone gets their own sign-in and the whole product, and leads and service areas are shared across the team. Need more than 20? Email support@zonenotice.com.

Is this an official notice?

No. ZoneNotice is not affiliated with any city, county or state agency. It is a faster way to read what they already publish, and every record links back to its source.

Can I cancel?

Any time, from your own billing page — two clicks, no email and no phone call. The trial takes no card, so there is nothing to cancel if you decide it is not for you. Once you subscribe the plan renews at the same price until you cancel, and you keep access to the end of the period you have already paid for. There are no refunds.
